According to IndieWire, Godzilla Cinematographer Seamus McGarvey (who also worked on The Avengers and Anna Karenina) says that the much-anticipated 3D monster-movie will start filming in March, 2013 and en route to its May 16th, 2014 release date. He told IndieWire:

“We haven’t really worked out what we’re doing yet. We don’t start shooting until March of next year. I’m in the process of testing what our visual approach will be.” He had nothing but great things to say about (Gareth) Edwards, who will be making his big-budget debut. “It’s wonderful working with Gareth. He’s a wonderful filmmaker and somebody who understands the camera,” McGarvey remarked.

Another blog post added that they will finish filming sometime in June.

Stay tuned.
