Danica took to Facebook last year to blast that she was divorcing Paul Hospenthal, who was 47, to her 30 – a typical marriage age gap from experience.
But then reports started that she was having an affair with fellow NASCAR rookie Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. This blogger said, then, that while there was no proof, where there’s smoke, there’s fire.
Now that the pair went public, we have smoke, and it goes back to the rumors of late 2012. The National Enquirer quoted racing bloggers, who pointed to the idea that Danica and Paul were like “two ships passing in the night,” while Danica saw more of Paul than her husband. Take this quote: “Danica has spent more time with Ricky the past couple of years than with her husband. When he won the Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year in 2010, she was one of the first to congratulate him and gave him a big hug. It’s no secret Danica is infatuated with him.”
The pair met at the Nationwide rookie meetings in 2010; last year in July, Danica said “We got along from the very beginning,” Patrick said. “He’s really respectful. He wants to help me. He makes me trust him. There’s no bad intent. He’s just protective and nice, a really good friend.”
Friends with benefits?
Danica was said to have arrived at the Nationwide event celebrating Stenhouse wearing a “little black dress” just after the Facebook blast that she was divorcing her husband. That started tongues wagging.
Still, it’s pretty cool to be able to gossip about a hottie who races cars at 200 MPH, as she did today.
