College is expensive, and now more than ever.

Of course, we all know that, but the infographic you’re about to see really causes the problem to be pushed right into your face.

Still, the cost of a college degree in no way reduces its importance. Having a college degree from a known, accredited institution places one in the competitive game for landing employment. And it’s a game, as some employers use such things as your major and even your grade point average as determinants for employment.

So, with that, here’s what the college-bound student is faced with from a fiscal perspective.

Created by FrugalDad.com, the infographic called “College isn’t cheap” reports that:

1) The average cost of a four-year degree from a state school is $30,000.
2) Student loans leave college graduates an average of $20,000 in debt.
3) Only half of all college graduate obtained a full-time job in 2011.
