Godzilla 2014 Update: More Set Picts Reveal Plot

UPDATE: GODZILLA WILL ATTACK SAN FRANCISCO!

In this Godzilla 2014 Update, we find more set pictures that, put together, reveal many plot details.

First, the filming action is still in Canada, but has moved to Steveston, BC from Vancouver. There, the first set of picts that caused a ton of buzz came from a depiction of an abandoned Japanese fishing village which was said to have been destroyed by Godzilla and contaminated by his radioactivity. The Daily Mail UK reports “abandoned fishing boats, ruined shacks and nuclear warnings on display,” that make up the set.

Second, here’s Godzilla Director Gareth Edwards in a video that looks like it was made from some kind of stadium, and marks the one year anniversary before the movie’s released May 16th, 2014:

If you look closely, there’s a man on the right who looks like his right arm is in a sling, as if it was broken. That could mean the stadium was being used as a kind of make-shift hospital.

The final photos are of a group of school children being evacuated from school in Japan, or what appears to be Japan.

And another photo is of an evacuation book. What’s interesting is it reads that it’s from the United States Department Of Defense.

That brings the question of what the U.S. DOD is doing in Japan. Without knowing the story, it may be, just as a guess, that it’s because Japan itself does not have a large scale defense department – a hold-over from the U.S. victory over Japan to end World War II, and the Dodge Plan that prohibited Japan from spending more than one percent of its GDP on defense.

Just a guess.

Godzilla stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston and from a screenplay by Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont and Dave Callaham. Legendary Pictures’ Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are producing with Mary Parent and Brian Rogers. Alex Garcia and Patricia Whitcher are executive producers with Yoshimitsu Banno and Kenji Okuhira.
