Melissa King, the woman who rose to stardom based on a sex tape combined with her being Miss Delaware, proving the power of the Internet, is a more popular online celebrity than either CNN’s well-established Wolf Blitzer, or the Atlanta-based network’s newly-minted anchor Brianna Keilar.
Look:
Melissa King’s Google Search Trend Intensity is three-times higher than that for “CNN’s well-established Wolf Blitzer” and six times greater than that for Ms. Keilar. What’s remarkable is, both Keilar and Blitzer on on television on a daily basis.
And if I go a step further, King’s popularity is comparable, if not equal, to that of former San Francisco 49ers Wide Receiver Jerry Rice:
Who’s Melissa King, and why do I root for her rise to stardom? Well, I’ll take the second part of my question first. It’s because her celebrity is directly connected to the outing of a sex act that was captured on video for entertainment. And it happened before she was crowned Miss Delaware. Here’s my video take on the news at the time:
Our primal interest in such actions by women (men don’t cause this kind of Internet reaction at all), and the free distribution of the tape by the very company that made it after the publicity around it ramped up, caused “Melissa King” to be searched for so much that her Google Search Intensity Rate is three times what Wolf Blitzer’s is, and towers over Brianna Keilar’s by a factor of six.
Now, who is Melissa King?
Melissa King is the gorgeous former Miss Delaware who, early in 2013, lost her crown over the discovery of a sex tape she made with an Internet porn company prior to her winning the crown, and done because she needed the money. Stripped of the Miss Delaware title, Ms. King was then slapped with not one, but two arrest warrants in 2013, and for failing to appear at a court date for allegedly stealing money from a fare box in July of 2012 and for underage possession of alcohol while in Ocean City, Md.
Ms. King eventually cleared all that up, with the bus fare charged dropped, and she getting one-year of unsupervised probation plus a fine of $100. Well, that was May of 2013 – last year.
CORRECTION: Melissa King informs me that she was never placed on probation and the reports are wrong. Moreover, she says she was not a journalism major, either. And she informs me that, contrary to how it looks, she didn’t really have all that great a time at U of A. But now, she’s focused on her modeling career.
Then, King was all set to move to Fayetteville, Arkansas and enter the University of Arkansas as a freshman. From all accounts on her Twitter and Instagram pages, life was grand. She was attending classes, majoring in journalism, and going to parties and rooting for the Hogs Football team.
But she hit another snag this year, Super Bowl Sunday, as she, Melissa King, was arrested again, but for what she said to Total Frat Move blog was a “misunderstanding” leading to a claim of “criminal trespassing” at the SAE Frat House at the University of Arkansas.
King also had no ID on her when she reached the police jail, but did tell the booking officer that she could “Google her.”
While it’s not chronicled, it’s fairly obvious that Ms. King faced a probation violation stemming from that incident. The guess is that she had to leave school over a ‘code of conduct’ issue and because she issued several tweets about leaving Arkansas.
All of that was punctuated by a note from a friend referring to King has having to leave the college.
From Melissa King To Amanda Knox: The World Fears The Sexual Woman
What’s fascinating to me is that Melissa King and Amanda Knox seems to be persecuted for being sexually-free women. In Knox’ case, the Italian legal system seemed dazzled by the fact that she had something like six or eight sexual partners in America and Italy, and all while she was 20 years old. It also looks like the Italian legal system is obsessed with punishing her for it – and that has nothing to do with the murder of Meredith Kercher.
And to put a finer point on it, Melissa King was 18 at the time, and is now approaching 20.
Think about it.
Melissa King Needs A YouTube Channel
On her Twitter account, Melissa King says she’s headed to LA. Whatever the reason (and one report in 2013 said that YouPorn offered her $250,000 to be a model), King should visit the YouTube Creators Hub, and start her own YouTube Channel. Her role model should be Michelle Phan, the famous YouTube-based makeup artist – in fact, perhaps Phan could have her on as a guest?
But King could use her own YouTube channel to land sponsorship deals with fashion brands and other product marketers. In the end, she would be making money from her looks and in a better and potentially more lucrative way than the porn-route she started on.
Stay tuned.
