Eight busted for NYC parking fraud accused of using phony handicapped and bogus city placards to find spaces, dodge fines New York Daily News

Forged “city-issued” placards led Tuesday to the genuine arrests of eight drivers nabbed trying to scam their way out of parking tickets, officials said. Half of those in custody used bogus handicapped parking placards in their attempts to get parking tickets dismissed, while the phony documentation was “issued” by the Department of Transportation, the City Law Department, the New York Blood Center and the U.S. Post Office, according to authorities. “Parking comes at a premium in a city like New York, and using fraudulent placards to circumvent the rules is a crime,” said Department of Inve…
