The fraudulent lawsuit against Chevron – based on the relationship between Texaco and Ecuador between 1967 and 1992 and crafted by American lawyer Steven Donziger is slowly unraveling and not in his favor.

The latest news is that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District Court of Columbia Circuit rejected Ecuador’s appear of the 2011 damages award of $96 Million to Chevron from Ecuador, and from the international arbitration panel at the Hague, Netherlands.

Chevron, which purchased Texaco in 2005, argued that Ecuador had violated provisions of a 1997 investment treaty by failing to resolve lawsuits in a timely fashion. The appeals court agreed with a 2013 ruling from a federal district judge that agreed with Chevron.
