UPDATE: The poll is not done according to Greg McConnell, but will be out this week, and now my source is not certain that it was the upcoming Job and Housing Poll, or another poll that’s being produced. McConnell says the poll surveyed fewer than the 1,200 I was told by my source, and did not cost $50,000 to do. McConnell says their objective is to get a 4 percent margin of error, so they don’t focus on a number but do what they can to get to that margin of error.

Rebecca Kaplan, Jean Quan, Joe Tuman Lead New Oakland Mayors Race Poll

Rebecca Kaplan, Oakland’s At-Large Councilmember, is the leader in the latest Jobs and Housing Coalition Poll to be released this week. The tally, without the percentages as of now, is Rebecca Kaplan, Jean Quan, Joe Tuman, Libby Schaaf, Dan Siegel, and Bryan Parker.

The poll of 1,200 people in Oakland says nothing about how voters will make their ranked choice picks. So, about all it tells us is that Kaplan will get the most of the first place votes, just ahead of Quan. But who will get second or third place is another story, not addressed by the poll, as of this writing.

Stay tuned.
