Brenda Roberts is in the Oakland City Auditors Race. She is running against Len Raphaels, a well-known Oakland CPA.
But Brenda herself is well-known with Oakland insiders. She is described as “Courtney Ruby lite” and what that means depends on your view of Ruby.
Roberts is endorsed by current Oakland City Councilmember Pat Kernighan and as well as Oakland Port Commissioner Michael Colbruno.
In a nutshell, looking at who is behind her, I can’t find any evidence that she has strong black or Latino Oakland support. Moreover, she looks more
like a Berkeley dweller who is new to Oakland, having lived at her Oakland address for five years.
By contrast Raphaels has Oakland District Five Councilmember Noel Gallo.
