Things went from bad to worse for Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice. Late Saturday night Rice and his fiancé, Janay Palmer, were involved in an altercation at the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, NJ.

Rice was released on his own recognizance.

Wednesday TMZ.com published video of an unconscious Palmer lying on the ground; Rice dragged her out of the elevator. The footage took place before the arrest.

Rice’s attorney, Michael Diamondstein confirmed the authenticity of the video, but said it is incomplete since it only shows what transpired at the end of the incident, not the whole story.

A court summons was issued on February 15; Rice was accused of “striking her with his hand, rendering her unconscious…”

The arrest will be reviewed by the NFL under the league’s personal conduct policy. Greg Aiello, NFL senior vice president of communications told CSNBaltimore it is “standard procedure” for the league.

Rice will likely face possible punishment by league commissioner Roger Goodell.

Rice is coming off a disappointing season with a less than stellar performance with 660 rushing yards and four touchdowns. In 2012 he signed a five-year, $35 million deal.

The Ravens released a statement Sunday saying that they are aware of the situation. They have not released another statement about the incident.

The league will continue to monitor the situation and the Ravens will likely make a statement after more facts have been released.
