Gal Gadot is relatively unknown but not so much. She most famously starred in Fast And Furious 6, so if one stars in anything they can’t be unknown, right? The Isreali supermodel was picked by Zack Synder to play Wonder Woman in the planned Batman v. Superman movie in development by Legendary Pictures.
Batman vs. Superman, set to be released July 15th, 2015, stars Henry Cavill as Superman, versus Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The Legendary pictures movie also stars Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne and is directed Zack Snyder.
While Gal Gadot is certainly hot, wonderfully talented, and very beautiful, she’s also quite skinny. And unless she really works out, Godot’s going to be the skinniest Wonder Woman in history.
That brings up a point: just how buffed, or thin, should Wonder Woman be? My objection to Gal Godot’s current build is that it’s not up to what my expectations have been for Diana Prince since I was, oh, six years old.
Then, in 1968, I expected Wonder Woman to have obvious biceps, well-formed thighs, and just enough of a body that she looked like she could kick your ass before she made love to you. Wonder Woman was never drawn to be, and never should be, a woman who looks like you can push her around.
She’s an AMAZON, for God’s sake. The definition of Amazon is a woman who’s tall, strong, and ready for battle – that’s how Wonder Woman is supposed to look.
Gal Gadot’s about 5’9 tall, so she’s almost Amazon height, but could stand the few more inches that those boots are going to put on her because according to DC Comics, Wonder Woman is supposed to be 5’11 – two inches more, please!
Zack Synder said in a statement that “Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”
Yeah, but Zack, put about 25 pounds of muscle on Gal, ok?
