Rob Ford, in delivering a rather vulgar response to allegations of misconduct that were floated by the Toronto Police, angered that city’s city council. This is what he said:

Reacting with a swiftness not commonly seen in city government, the Toronto City Council voted 39 to 3 to take away his power to hire and fire the deputy mayor and the executive committee, the group charged with forming the city’s budget. On Monday, they’re going to finish the process, voting to take away more of his powers.

Rob Ford has said he’s going to sue the Toronto City Council, who can’t remove him as he’s not been charged with a crime, so sought to weaken him. That action, in itself, may not be legal as it renders the Mayor not capable of being able to do the work he was elected to do.

Stay tuned.
