Typhoon Haiyan has left the Philippines a wreck, with reports and reports of bodies floating around in high water floods that, in some cases, have not subsided, and in other cases have, leaving evidence of more deaths than the estimated 10,000 people.

The BBC reports that the United Nations is asking for $190 million in aid, and the United States and the UK are sending ships to help rescue victims and what the BBC reports will be “humanitarian assistance, supplies and medical care.”
