Lou-Reed Lou Reed was one of the first established musicians to give his full support to the Occupy Wall Street movement. His effort didn’t consist of just words, but performance.

Here, at Lincoln Center In New York City, during the night of December 1st, 2011, he said “I’ve never been more ashamed than to see the baracades tonight. The police are our army. I want to be friends with them. And I want to Occupy Wall Street. I support it, in each and every way. I’m proud to be part of this. Thank you.

Lou Reed passed away today at 71.
