Ben Affleck was named as the replacement for Christian Bale as Batman when the exciting Batman and Superman movie (AKA MARVEL-killer) is released on the anticipated date of July 17th, 2015. But the selection of Ben Affleck has lit up Twitter, and to this point of this 23rd, August day at 4 am, the Twitter Top Trends includes #BetterBatmanThanBenAffleck – a statement that some don’t like the selection of the star of ARGO.

Ok, some of those are down-right funny: the Autopilot in airplane!
But all of this is because there are some who can’t see Ben Affleck doing dour and moody – the requirements necessary to play Bruce Wayne, and really started with Michael Keaton’s Batman with Tim Burton.
But I think all of that’s unfair. I’m not sure how Ben Affleck came to be selected, but it seems to mark a turning point in the character’s arc. Just how he will interact with Henry Cavill as Man Of Steel is to be seen.
That’s up to the writers.
