Now, it’s 2013, and on a bright, sunny Sunday in London, Andy Murray put in a tennis performance for the ages, in being up and looking to put it away, then falling back to Novak Djokovic, then coming back in four straight games to win, today.
Memorable Moments At Today’s Wimbledon
The Battle.
The most memorable moment was the seesaw battle between Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic. Give it to Novak Djokovic, who looked like he was about to be swept off the court like Sabine Lisicki was on Saturday (sadly), but he collected himself and put together an amazing comeback to save the second set and make a game of it.
So much of a game did Djokovic made of it, that it looked like he was going to come back and win it outright. But that’s when Murray realized he couldn’t loose the chance to make the UK’s day, and roared back in historic fashion to win.
Bradley Cooper And Gerard Butler Acting Like A Couple
Friends Bradley Cooper and Gerard Butler watching the Wimbledon Final in blue suits and taking a couple-like photo of each other was just funny. It also lit up Twitter, with “Bradley Cooper And Gerard Butler” hitting the Twitter trend, thanks to ESPN’s focus on the pair, the large TV audience, and the common use of the “second screen” to communicate via social media.
Again, thanks to ESPN, a focus on Kim Sears sent Twitter ablaze and the next thing you know, Andy Murray’s girlfriend became a Twitter Trend, and with the expect tweets about her beauty (she actually looks like The Duchess of Cambridge) and about what she and Andy will do to celebrate his win.
Congratulations to Andy Murray.
