The Met Gala. If you’re anything like this video-blogger, and you’d have to be to have even read this far, you’re hungry to feel like you were actually there. Have no fear, Zennie is here, with an approach that should wet your whistle. So with that, let’s get a glimse at the The Costume Institute Gala from a social media perspective.

Like Jennifer Lawrence’s totally funny photobomb of Sarah Jessica-Parker:

And there’s the Tout’s of fashion writer Laurie Brookins, like this one:

And this one…

The video above Ms. Lawrence’s photobomb is the actual, recorded livestream of Sunday’s Red Carpet at The Met Gala. The result of a little programming knowledge, it sets the tone for the rest of this post. And it, in a way, sets up a discussion of the celebrity guest list, famously assembled by the editor in chief and artistic director of Conde Nast, publisher Vogue Anna Wintour, and Vogue staffers.

If I’m not mistaken, that’s the most extensive list of Met Gala celebrity attendees online. But the blog Fashionista has an excellent breakdown of which brand paid for which celebrity to attend the event.

Now, on to interesting social media content, like Andy Cohen fooling around with the Vine app:

This Vine by Eric Wilson gives a lesson on how to greet Ms. Wintour:

What would a party be without a Vine of J-Lo’s butt?

Pop Sugar’s Sharing What It’s Like To Be On The Red Carpet:

As to the best look?

Personally, I like the elegance that Lindsey Vonn pulled off, as well as Rooney Mara, one of my favorite actresses, in in Givenchy. And Ivanka Trump in Juan Carlos Obando was stunning, as was Miley Cyrus in a mesh dress by Marc Jacobs.

But overall, I’m not down on the Punk theme because it reminds me of this whole, rather destructive move toward austerity economics. Then, I think of women with hairy armpits, too many tatoos, and no deodorant and get totally turned off.

At least The Met Gala’s over and thankfully few of the celebs actually reflected true, 80’s style punk.

Stay tuned.
