The San Francisco Transbay Terminal Tower Groundbreaking Ceremony went off without a hitch, as the 27-minute video shows.

The audience of friends, media, and staffers were treated to speeches by Transbay Transit Center Joint Powers Authority Executive Director Maria Ayerdi Kaplan, San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee, San Francisco District Six Supervisor Jane Kim, and the legends, as I call them in the video: architect Cesar Pelli, developer Gerald Hines, and real estate developer Mort Zuckerman.

The 1,100 foot tower will be finished in 2017 and the land price paid for the right to build it was $192 million – the highest paid per-square foot in history in America.

Stay tuned.
