Star Trek: Into Darkness has a brand new teaser trailer, out just so Iron Man 3 can’t have all of the fun. This Star Trek trailer reveals an even more fast-paced and action-oriented version of the United Federation Of Planets than before.

But there’s just one scene that really does bug the beejesus out of me.

And really, it’s the only scene that does.

It’s the one with that small, fast ship, moving rapidly between tight spaces, trying to escape some other ship, and with Kirk and Spock (Chris Pine and Zachary Qinto) at the helm.

That ship looks for all the World like the Jupiter II in the 90s reboot of Lost In Space, in movie form.

Take a look!

Seriously, take a look at the ship in the film and then look at the Jupiter II. What’s up there? Could it be that J.J. Abrams and crew are taking too many liberties with Star Trek?

Perhaps I’m just a purist, but I do think a little too much meddling is not good for the Star Trek brain.

Just saying.

Stay tuned.
