The The Violence Against Women Act 2013 Reauthorization was introduced by Democratic Vermont Senator Pat Leahy. The law, now signed into action by President Obama, will do the following:
– Improves response of the healthcare system to domestic violence reports and incidents.
– Works to provide transitional housing assistance for domestic violence victims.
– Provides grants to Indian tribal organizations toward the safety of Indian women.
– Reinstates the laws prohibiting cyberstalking.
