bdBeverly Hills, CA – The 85th Academy Awards is history, and this blogger had another successful visit to Hollywood and Beverly Hills. We’ll focus on The Night Of 100 Stars Party later, but the focus now is on the Oscar winners from last night.

The surprise, to me, is that Argo won Best Picture, even after Ang Lee (another surprise) won Best Director for Life Of Pi over Steven Speilberg for Lincoln. In Oscar’s statistical history, Ang Lee’s movie should have been the Best Picture winner, too.

But that went to Argo.

Now, I say it’s a surprise, even as you may say it was favored. But if you study the Oscars statistical history, it’s a total upset. Everything in 2013 was out of whack from an Oscar Prediction standpoint. But to my discredit, I should have paid more attention to the change in the political winds of Oscar than I have in the past – Argo’s rise was incredible, and info travels faster. Lesson learned.

Here’s my vlog on these developments from last night, after an evening of parties after The Night Party:

But now, on to the winners list, and more later…
