Mindy McCready. There are few stories sadder than that of the country music singer who took her own life last Sunday, at the young age of 37.
Ms McCready’s incredible voice and lovely looks powered her rise to the top of country music charts during the late 90s, but then her fall after the turn of the 21st Century led to the development of an addiction to drugs, and to bad men.
From 2005 to 2013, Mindy McCready seemingly bounced from an abusive relationship, where her boyfriend tried to kill her, to a scuffle with her Mom that landed her in jail for 30 days for a probation violation, to arrests for substance abuse, and in 2011 an attempt to take her kid away from the same man who tried to kill her in 2005, but went awry because McCready was supposed to transport her son to stay with her mother, but didn’t want her there, either.
The sad end of Mindy McCready’s life came Sunday, when she shot herself on the porch of her Arkansas home, just over one month after her live-in boyfriend David Wilson took his own life, shooting himself on the same porch, and in the same spot where McCready eventually killed herself on Sunday.
