Baltimore Ravens Linebacker Terrell Suggs
Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs is one of the toughest players in the National Football League. In week 13 he tore his biceps muscle and only missed one game due to the injury. He returned for the rest of the regular season and the playoffs.

Originally he thought he would require surgery, but learned otherwise when he received a second opinion on Wednesday. Sources close to him told the Baltimore Sun that he plans to rehab the injury instead of having surgery.

It was his second injury in the past year. Last spring he tore his Achilles tendon and had surgery to repair the tear and missed part of the season. He surprised everyone when he came back after 5.5 months.

Suggs was the 2011 NFL Defensive Player of the year. In the eight games he played during the 2012 regular season he had 22 tackles and two sacks. In four playoff games he had 21 tackles and two sacks.

Hopefully the rehab will bring him back to 100%. He will be under more pressure next season without linebacker Ray Lewis who recently retired. The Ravens have limited space in their salary cap and can’t afford to retain all free agent linebackers including Paul Kruger, Cary Williams and Dannell Ellerbe.

Suggs is one of the toughest players I’ve ever seen; since he was able to bounce back from his Achilles surgery last year I am hopeful that he will bounce back from this injury. He has plenty of time to recover before training camp starts in July.
