Fans flock to Ravens send-off in Baltimore

It is hard to believe twelve years ago today the Baltimore Ravens beat the New York Giants in Super Bowl XXXV. It was worth the long wait to see them head to New Orleans to face the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday.

Today the City of Baltimore gave them a proper send off at the Inner Harbor Amphitheater. Thousands of fans showed up to cheer for their beloved team and wish them good luck on Sunday.

Ravens’ linebacker, Ray Lewis, who will retire after the Super Bowl promised Ravens Nation that they will bring back another championship ring:

“We did this, we did this in 2000, and we are not going to New Orleans for nothing else but to bring back another ring back to Baltimore, where it belongs.”

Last week the Ravens held full practices on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Now they must focus on New Orleans. Head coach John Harbaugh said they will be all business in the Big Easy:

“We can do the other stuff anytime,” Harbaugh said “But it is not very often that you get an opportunity to prepare for the Super Bowl, and that is what our guys are enjoying.”

They arrived in New Orleans around 3pm local time. Coach Harbaugh and Ray Lewis addressed the media on the NFL Network.

The Ravens will enjoy the night off then it is back to business tomorrow.

Watching the Super Bowl coverage gets me so excited I feel like I am going to burst! The experience seems surreal; I can’t believe my Ravens are on national television.

I witnessed the Ravens win the Super Bowl in 2001 (on television of course) and I am beyond excited that I get to watch them again on Sunday. Like the Ravens, I need to remain calm and focus so that I can be a productive member of society. I will enjoy this week and proudly support my Ravens!
