President Barack Obama was on NBC’s Meet The Press this morning to talk with show host David Gregory about the “Fiscal Cliff” negotiations and how we got to a point where, with just under two days to go, Congress has not come to an agreement.
President Obama is unhappy that House Republicans don’t seem to want to increase taxes on the wealthy. What’s really weird about the House GOP efforts are many of their constituents are poor.
Consider this: House GOPers are mostly elected by poor or barely middle-class whites, but they’re trying to protect the interests of a comparative handful of people who don’t represent their true core constituency.
That reads like a sure-fire blueprint for getting booted out of office in 2014.
