Wayne LaPierre, The National Rifle Association’s Executive Director, made an ill-advised appearance on NBC’s Meet The Press to push his support of guns in the wake of the Sandy Hook School Shooting and the rash of mass murders, and wound up being blasted on social media for the spittle he produced while talking to MTP host David Gregory.

A few Meet The Press observers took to Twitter to notice LaPierre’s spittle on his mouth, and since they didn’t like him or what he had to say, the spittle attack was on. Take a look:

Call Him Crazy
Needless to say, the MTP episode resulted in a rash of incredibly terrible content produced about Wayne’s appearance, mostly around his statement “If it’s crazy to call for putting police and armed security in our schools to protect our children, then call me crazy.” So, having already took note of his spittle, that’s exactly what a lot of people did.
In the end, LaPierre would have done better by working behind the scenes with President Obama. Now, he’s completely wrecked the NRA’s chances of being a part of the solution – at least for now.
The basic problem is group with the term “rifle” in its name is going to receive crit after a mass shooting to start with. The NRA should know that.
