According to some studies, Social Media’s the great barometer of who will win an election. And if that’s the case, President Obama’s got this one against Mitt Romney sewn up. The key is the Twitter Political Index.

The intent of the Twitter Political Index is to be a daily gauge of online conversation and sentiment surrounding Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. Right now, Obama is ahead of Romney, 66 to 56, with the President up 7 points over the following day, and Romney up by 3 points over the same period.

President Obama has been ahead of Gov. Romney every day in October since the 3rd of the month. On only two occasions has Romney surpassed Obama, and that lasted for just one day.

Of course, we’ll see how this plays out on today, Election Day.

Get out and vote.

Stay tuned.
