Robert Griffin III, the 2nd pick of the 2012 NFL Draft behind Andrew Luck, is leading his new team, the Washington Redskins, against the New Orleans Saints 33 to 17, while Luck and his new team, the Indianapolis Colts, are behind the Chicago Bears 34 to 14 as of this writing.
While some may not like that comparison between Griffin and Luck, that’s the way it’s going to be for the entire 2012 season, and because they were picked 1-2.

This blogger’s in Chicago at my folk’s home watching the Colts – Bears contest on a lovely day in The Windy City – home town.
The difference in this game is Andrew Luck’s two interceptions, and now one fumble – three of the four Colts turnovers were due to Luck, or lack of same. It’s not a scheme issue – the Colts actually have a solid game plan – it’s an execution issue. Either Luck has been a bit off on some of his throws, or the receiver didn’t make the catch.
We also have to throw in the Colts Defense, which has made some timely stops, but isn’t the powerful, game-changing unit that can keep the Bears out of the endzone, and maintain a close game. Especially with their QB causing turnovers. (Though Luck’s 4-4 on this current 4th Quarter Drive with about 11 minutes left, so hold everything – OK, 5-5 now.)
By contrast, Robert Griffin III is setting the NFL World on fire. RG3 is 16 of 23 for 279 yards and 2 TD’s with no interceptions.
And Andrew Luck just threw his first NFL TD pass – a slant to Tory Avery – to bring the Colts closer, 21 to 34 for the Chicago Bears with 11 minutes to go in the game.
Well, this could get interesting.
