Oakland News comes forth, and I’m just playing catchup. That said, I must be doing something right: my face is one of the top five results of a search for #Oakland on Twitter, as of this writing. That means I’m a top Oakland influencer in social media! How about that!

Enough of me; it’s football season, again! And to kick it off, the Oakland Raiders Raider Nation Celebration is August 12th at 1 – 4 p.m. at O.co Coliseum, in parking lot “B,” which is located on the south side of the Coliseum Complex. It’s too bad the event isn’t at Jack London Square, where it was once held annually, and was a great way to be even closer to Raiders fans and help the city’s businesses make money from the crowds. Maybe next year?

But this year, we have the celebration, where you can go down and meet the Raiders. Then, on Monday Night at the Coliseum, we’ll get to see these brand-new Oakland Raiders take on The Dallas Cowboys at home. If memory serves, this is the first time the Raiders have been on Monday Night Football for the first NFL Preseason Monday Night contest. Let’s see what new head coach Dennis Allen’s up to with this newly re-cast organization.

Couch Dumped At 411 Euclid Still There After Two Weeks

It’s been two week, and a phone call by this blogger to the City of Oakland Public Works Department, but a couch that someone dumped at 411 Euclid Street is still there! Here’s my videos on the matter:

I don’t know if there are a lot of evictions, or what, but I am seeing a lot of couch dumpings in Adams Point, and that’s in addition to all kinds of appliances and other items. Something’s going on and it’s not good at all. But worse is that the City of Oakland can’t come and pick this crap up! That’s awful!

Oakland Broadway Shuttle Extended To 2014

Via a $725,000 grant, the Broadway Shuttle free bus that serves Downtown Oakland has been extended through 2014, and will run to 10 PM. Great news, but I think the route should stop at Grand and Staten and better serve Lake Merritt. But say, celebrate the fact that it’s operating! Yeah! That will also give shuttle program manager Zack Seal a job and more money to spend as he hangs at Room 389.

Mario Juarez Gets Rebecca Kaplan’s Support

If you didn’t see my video interview with Oakland At-Large Councilmember Rebecca Kaplan, here, she talks about her support for Mario Juarez for Oakland City Council District Five, and her own run against Ignacio De La Fuente for her At-Large seat:

More videos coming from the Juarez event. I’m behind – a ton of material to post!

Oh, I have to get on the Safeway at 51st and Pleasant Valley for not cleaning up their aisle! It’s awful, to say the least. Here’s my video:

Stay tuned!
