Jen Friel is amazing. The woman who runs the blog TalkNerdyToMeLover.com and has her own stage show in LA, and is an all-around entrepreneur, has made a living from lifecasting, online dating, blogging, and in short ‘being digital.’

I first met Jen at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and thanks to an introduction by Marla Schulman. At the time Ms. Friel was working with CAA (yes, the Creative Artists Agency) on a television show that was modeled around her life. That introduction led to this on-the-spot interview:

See, about three years ago, Jen elected to throw caution to the winds and just go around the United States couch-surfing. She made extensive use of her blog and various social network platforms to basically report on her life. All of that craziness came together in this new TV show.

But something happened. According to Jen, at the time, she didn’t want to be in front of the camera. A number of her friends (myself included) tried to change her mind, but Jen marches to her own drummer.

That drummer led her to start (with Jenn Hoffman) a live stage show called The Dirty Truth About Nerdy Girls, start on a still-secret project with Ben Parr (I need to check with her about that), and help me cover Academy Awards parties during Oscars Weekend.

And, of course, attend Comic Con!

By now you’re probably wondering if all of this text is in the video? No! That’s because I want you to watch the video!

Stay tuned.
