At Tuesday’s Mr. Irrelevant dinner, Leigh Steinberg, a friend of this blogger, presents the “contract” for Mr. Irrelevant 2012, who’s Northern Illinois and Indianapolis Colts QB Chandler Harnish, and then gives us an update on his comback to the NFL Agent ranks, which I’d like to see. As I’ve said before, everyone deserves a second chance, and Leigh’s done a lot for a ton of people, including me.
Leigh says that Last Saturday June 30th he emerged from bankruptcy, has settled the lawsuit and issues he had with Chad Morton’s $400,000 loan to him, and has an application for readmission to the league already submitted. Overall, he’s looking forward to the future, and says “we’ll see how that goes.”
On the matter of Bountygate, I mentioned to Leigh that there was a similar “Bountygate” with Buddy Ryan when he was with the Philadelphia Eagles as their coach. And Chris Carter confirmed this in an Internet report. Leigh says “It’s one thing for a player to sanction a bounty, but quite another for a team to do it.”
