Yes, her brand new boss. Jessica was just hired as Student-Athlete Development Coordinator personally by Arkansas football head coach Bobby Petrino on March 28th, 2012. In other words just a few days ago, as reported by todaysthv.com. So she made a move from the foundation to report directly to Petrino himself, as his hand-picked aide.

(And it must be said that at 25, Jessica was Arkansas’ first woman fundraising officer. That’s remarkable for two reasons: first, that it took as long as 2012 for that to happen, and second, that Dorrell managed to be that person at such a young age.)

According to several sources, Petrino did not talk about a female passenger or anyone with him – but the police report that was posted by the Arkansas Times mentions Jessica Dorrell and in full and says that neither Petrino or Dorrell were at the “accident scene” at the time the Arkansas State Police Officer arrived.

ACCIDENT SCENE: THIS ACCIDENT OCCURRED ON ARKANSAS STATE HIGHWAY 16 IN MADISON COUNTY. ARKANSAS STATE HIGHWAY 16 IS AN EAST/WEST HIGHWAY OF ASPHALT CONSTRUCTION WITH ONE LANE OF TRAVEL IN EITHER DIRECTION SEPARATED BY A SOLID DOUBLE YELLOW LINE. THIS SECTION OF THE HIGHWAY IS STRAIGHT WITH A DOWNHILL GRADE AND HAS IMPROVED ASPHALT SHOULDERS THAT PARALLEL THE ROADWAY ON THE NORTH AND SOUTH SIDES. A GRASSY ROAD DITCH IS ALSO LOCATED ON THE NORTH AND SOUTH SIDES OF THE ROADWAY. A PILE OF DIRT AND TREE LIMBS WAS FOUND IN THE NORTH ROAD DITCH. FOR AN UNKNOWN REASON, V-1 (PETRINO) TRAVELED ACROSS THE WESTBOUND FOG LINE AS HE WAS APPLYING THE BRAKES. AFTER TRAVELING OFF THE NORTH SIDE OF THE ROADWAY THE REAR OF V-1 (PETRINO’S MOTORCYCLE) BEGAN ROTATING COUNTERCLOCKWISE CAUSING V-1 (PETRINO) TO LAY OVER ONTO ITS LEFT SIDE. WHILE ON ITS LEFT SIDE, V-1 SLID NORTHWEST THROUGH A GRASSY ROAD DITCH, STRIKING A PILE OF DIRT AND TREE LIMBS IN THE NORTH ROAD DITCH. POST CRASH ACTIVITIES: OPERATOR PETRINO (V-1) AND PASSENGER DORRELL WERE NOT PRESENT AT THE ACCIDENT SCENE WHEN I ARRIVED. EMS WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE TRAFFIC ACCIDENT. OPERATOR PETRINO (V-1) AND PASSENGER DORRELL WERE TRANSPORTED FROM THE COLLISION SCENE TO THE INTERSECTION OF EAST

HUNTSVILLE ROAD AND CROSSOVER ROAD IN FAYETTEVILLE BY BENJAMIN ADAM WILLIAMS , JODY DIANE STEWART, AND WILLIAMS’ 12 YEAR OLD SON, BENJAMIN WILLIAMS. THESE THREE RESIDE AT 817 NORTH 3RD STREET, OZARK, AR 72946. UPON ARRIVAL AT THE INTERSECTION OF EAST HUNTSVILLE ROAD AND CROSSOVER ROAD IN FAYETTEVILLE, PASSENGER DORRELL DEPARTED IN HER PERSONEL VEHICLE. ON TUESDAY, APRIL 3, 2012, ASP SERGEANT GABE WEAVER AND I INTERVIEWED AND OBTAINED A WRITTEN DRIVER/WITNESS STATEMENT FROM THE OPERATOR OF V-1 (PETRINO) AT HIS OFFICE AT RAZORBACK STADIUM IN FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: EVIDENCE INDICATES THAT OPERATOR PETRINO OPERATED HIS MOTORCYCLE IN SUCH A MANNER THAT CAUSED HIM TO FAIL TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF V-1. NO CITATIONS WILL BE ISSUED.

QUESTION: Did Dorrell give Petrino the “reach-around” on the bike?

Additionally, the police report that was released today, Thursday, has Petrino writing that he was headed West on Highway 16, but because of “sun and wind” he could not manage the turn in the road and tried to “lay his bike down” to avoid an even more severe accident.

But in leaving out any mention of Jessica Dorell, Petrino has create a new can of worms. Plus, he told reporters that he was with his wife on Sunday, saying “I spent the day at the lake with my wife working. She works me hard when I’m up there.”

Right.

That “disingenuous drifter” tag might seem to apply to how he is treating his marriage since Petrino did not mention Dorrell, and dropped her off at home before checking himself in at the hospital. The police report says she was not injured, so it could be that Petrino did not feel it was necessary – but considering he did not mention Jessica, and his history of not telling the truth when it matters, this looks like something else.

Now, the upcoming wedding has a scar from the many nasty comments left on what was once a relatively obscure online wedding announcement website – comments I will not repeat here.

The best action is for both Jessica and Coach Petrino to issue statements that clear the air on their relationship, because if there is something to be found that points to an affair, it will come out, sooner rather than later.

Arkansas Fans Not Concerned

It doesn’t seem like Arkansas fans are really concerned about the news, except for how it might impact recruiting. One fan at Hogsville.net wrote this:

What is there not to like about him? He’s not sandusky.

UPDATE: As Hogs fans wait for Jeff Long to complete his investigation, it’s said that Dorrell’s in hiding and not returning phone calls. Taver Johnson, Razoback’s Assistant Head Coach, is now in charge, and gave a great Friday Press Conference that provided much needed stability to a program that could have become unraveled. Razorback’s fans are of various views, some think Bobby Petrino should be fired, but most don’t want him to be.
