Amanda Bynes was trying to pass a Los Angeles Police Car – a bad move in general – when the right side of the cop car was sideswiped by Bynes’s automobile. She was pulled over, and while it’s not clear if she was given a field-test, the police saw that she was not fit to drive and placed her under arrest.
Of course if someone hits your car at 3 AM just trying to pass by, it’s a fair bet they’re not fit to drive anyway.
The 5’7, 126 pound star of such movies as What A Girl Wants was taken to jail at almost 4 AM, and then released at about 10:30 AM, after posting $5,000 bail.
