Brandon Marshall is a nice guy.
That’s what Marcellus Vernon Wiley, the former NFL Defensive End and now ESPN Analyst says about the now-former Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins Wide Receiver, who just became a Chicago Bears player. On Sunday, Brandon Marshall and his wife were involved in some weird altercation. According to TMZ.com…
According to reports, Marshall was outside of a club in Chelsea, NY around 4AM Sunday morning … when he got into an argument with a group of people … and allegedly threw a punch that connected with 24-year-old Christin Myles. It’s unclear if Marshall intended to strike the woman … or if she was collateral damage as Brandon was trying to hit someone else .
What’s confusing to this blogger is why Brandon Marshall. who others also call a “nice guy” seems to get into more than the normal number of disputes. Well, here’s the answer: Borderline Personality Disorder.
On July 31st, Marshall said he had the problem and the Miami Sun-Sentinel described it like this:
He has been calm and introspective for hours talking about his disturbing childhood, dysfunctional family and the incident earlier that April week that led to the arrest of his wife Michi Nogami-Marshall for allegedly stabbing him during a domestic dispute.
Then, as if a switch had been flipped, Marshall’s fuse is lit. The Miami Dolphins’ star receiver becomes agitated — then deflated — after watching his lesser-known contemporary Calvin Johnson in a national television commercial.
It’s the kind of gig Marshall always has desired, but will never receive because of a troublesome past, riddled with emotional outbursts and public disputes dating back to his days at UCF.
Marshall says that he has to count to 10 to deal with the problem, and reportedly has been treated for it on five separate occasions. Still, it plagues him.
On to Chicago.
