Alert: Police perimeter- 5100 Block of Broadway, CVS Pharmacy. Armed Gunman believed to be inside; all employees evacuated
Nixle Users,The below Twitter messages were sent within the last hour. I was unable to log on via computer for Nixle. All updates to this situation will be fed through both Nixle and Twitter. – Sgt. Chris Bolton
“Police presence and perimeter – 5100 Broadway. Broadway traffic may be blocked. Please avoid area. Possible gunman inside nearby store.”
“Update: Employees of CVS safely evacuated, PIO responding to scene; Broadway traffic remains open.”
As of this writing, Oakland Police are reportedly searching for an armed gunman. With this the Rockridge Shopping Center that houses the CVS Pharmacy is still open! (How? Why?)
