The time is almost upon us for the 84th annual Academy Awards, and while the show has yet to fully embrace social media – it has made some impressive leaps and bounds technologically speaking.
I downloaded the official Oscar app last night, and I have to say I am rather impressed!
It is available for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, and it provides a nice added value of the Oscars social feed, as well as original content and trailers from all the nominated films. There is also an interactive polling feature, with the capabilities of sharing on Facebook (which will no doubt get your friends involved in some rather interesting debates).
Well done, Academy! Welcome to the new millenium!
