Randy Travis
What’s interesting about the arrest of Country Music Singer Randy Travis is that, as this video shows, the police in Sanger, Texas didn’t know who he was. Travis didn’t have ID, and wasn’t driving, but he was in his car at the time. What I have a problem with is that he was arrested at all. On February 6th, it’s said that police got a call about a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot of a church.

According to a tape released by KCENTV.com, Travis said that he was sleeping, that he was watching the Super Bowl, and had an argument with the woman that would be his future wife. That’s sad. Here’s the video:

Whatever happened to the old fashioned idea that people don’t have to know all of this. There was a time when a celebrity didn’t have to face this public knowledge dump. The police would know who the person is, and get him help without arresting him.

I am personally sick and tired of people who want “everyone to be treated like everyone else.” Bullshit. Randy Travis is a celebrity, he’s earned that right, let him enjoy what should go with that: a degree of respect from law enforcement.
