So there have only been 2 percent of the votes of South Carolina, but already CNN says that Newt Gingrich has won. Even though the current percentage has Newt at 32%, Romney at 40%, Santorum at 14% and Paul at 10%.
Watching CNN for less than 37 minutes since the polls have closed in South Carolina it is really odd that they can announce a definite winner after only having 2 percent of the vote.

It is not only CNN – I switched to FOX News where they have also projected that Newt Gingrich has won the South Carolina primary.
CBS also has the “breaking news” that Gingrich has won. CBS says:
“Gingrich’s win was due in large part to his strong performance in two debates in the state this week. Nearly two in three GOP primary voters said the debates played an important role in their decision, and more than half (53 percent) made up their minds in the last few days, according to exit poll data.”
But then again, we all thought that Romney won Iowa and then a week later we were told that Santorum was actually the winner.
As of right now Romney won New Hampshire, Santorum won Iowa and Gingrich won South Carolina.
Ron Paul coming in last place was extremely unpredicted and is a shock.
Maybe the 98% of the votes that have not been counted yet will change this.
