The Boston HeraldThe New England Patriots beat the Buffalo Bills in today’s game. The score was 49 – 21, which is incredible for the Pats and could definitely help them inch closer to being in the Super Bowl this year! What a great way for the Patriots to ring in the New Year. This January 1, 2012 game could not have gone any better! They are now number one seed in the AFC playoffs.

Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski gained some recognition. The Boston Globe reports:

“Tom Brady, who finished with 23 of 35 for 338 yards and three touchdowns, passed the 5,000-yard passing mark in the season, only the third quarterback in NFL history to have done so. He finished with 5,235.

Rob Gronkowski, who had eight catches for 108 yards and two touchdowns, broke the NFL record for yards in a season by a tight end with 1,327. Gronkowski finishes the year with 18 touchdowns as well, good for second all-time in Patriots history. “
