To repeat, Solo was ignored on every talk show and presumably because the PR people connected with Dancing With The Stars didn’t promote her. Solo should not have required her own PR person, and if that’s the case, the show itself suffers by not getting the word out about one of the best female athletes of our generation being on DWTS.
The people who say that Hope thinks she’s “all that” are just expressing a set of insecurities generally associated with anyone who fears what it takes to be successful in athletics, let alone what being a strong woman is all about. That’s why I made the video after Hope appeared on The View:
What this blogger learned from watching Dancing With The Stars Season 13 was just how messed up American Society really is when it comes to beautiful women in sports. Women who aren’t in sports hate them, men are intimidated by them, and publicity people don’t know how to promote them. Then you have people who fear to say women like Hope are attractive, and get down right neurotic about it – the criticisms received for pointing out the obvious just served to egg this blogger on. The whole deal was so silly, if it wasn’t real it would be laughable.
All of that came to bear on Hope, and it wasn’t pretty to watch as DWTS made mince meat of Hope’s image. Especially when judges made comments about her femininity, or DWTS showed every negative video clip about her it could produce. It was a study in character assassination for the World to see. The only reason Hope went back is she’s getting paid to be there, otherwise, why bother?
The reason so many blog posts came out of this blogger at Zennie62 about Hope, was because when the show started I took notice of how People Magazine left her off the DWTS cast photo, did a search content analysis, and determined that compared with the other contestants, Hope Solo was being ignored. Thus, it was logical to fill that void with as much Hope Solo DWTS-related content as I could develop.
The result was a huge success, with videos gaining over 55,000 views, and a good deal of traffic from the effort, not to mention the ability to aim a well-place blog to send a message to the rest of Dancing With The Stars that Solo was being treated horribly.
What Dancing With The Stars did was shameful. Period.
