FIFA: Border Showdown

September 2 is a day I just asked off from work so I can watch soccer all day. One game that will have my attention will be Qatar vs. Bahrain. Another middle-eastern showdown pins these two neighbors against each other.
The two teams are close in ranking Qatar at 90 and Bahrain at 100. If either team plans on going to the World Cup this is a must win game. Because Iran is in this group and is much higher in ranking and gets to face Indonesia in their first game which Iran will most likely win. The runner up will move on to the next round and that is going to be one of these two teams.

But that’s not all Qatar has much to prove see how they are the host nation in 2022: losing here would be an embarrassment. The two teams have history in the last 28 games there are 12 ties and 55 goals. Despite Qatar’s higher rank Bahrain has 9 wins.

This game is too close to call and should be a great game to watch. Bahrain does get the home field advantages as the game will be played at 1pm EST in Manama.

As always thank you FIFA.com. Here is a video of: Vietnam vs. Qatar Highlights Round 2, 2nd Leg.
