As San Diego Comic Con 2011 approaches – it’s set for July 20th to July 25th primarily at the San Diego Convention Center – buzz for the many comic book, books, and movie titles is growing, and that’s especially true for a new movie talked about in this space on Saturday: Haywire.

The Stephen Soderberg-directed Haywire stars Mixed martial arts (MMA) superstar Gina Carano alongside a superstar cast with Channing Tatum (GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra), Ewan McGregor (The Ghost Writer), Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class), Antonio Banderas (Desperado), Bill Paxton (Titanic, Aliens), Michael Douglas (Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps) and Michael Angarano (Almost Famous).

Wow. That’s a cast.

There’s little on the film, which is set for release January 20, 2011, but I did manage to uncover this movie clip, below. It has the following story line attached to it:

Haywire Trailer 2011 – Beautiful freelance covert operative Mallory Kane is hired out by her handler to various global entities to perform jobs which governments can’t authorize and heads of state would rather not know about. After a mission to rescue a hostage in Barcelona, Mallory is quickly dispatched on another mission to Dublin. When the operation goes awry and Mallory finds she has been double crossed, she needs to use all of her skills, tricks and abilities to escape an international manhunt, make it back to the United States, protect her family, and exact revenge on those that have betrayed her.

Here’s the clip:

Stay tuned.
