Personally being pro-choice this sounds good. Why should men decide what a woman can do with her body? Why should the government? So thanks Romney for not signing the pledge. That will probably make Republicans frown upon him, but maybe it will sway Independents. He writes “I am pro-life and believe that abortion should be limited to only instances of rape, incest, or to save the life of the mother.”That is great, that gives him brownie points and shows that he has an open mind and can put his personal beliefs that abortion is bad aside and let the aforementioned be exceptions. Some people say no matter what there should be no abortion.

On Romney wrote for National Review’s web site he called the pledge going completely overboard:

“The pledge also unduly burdens a president’s ability to appoint the most qualified individuals to a broad array of key positions in the federal government. I would expect every one of my appointees to carry out my policies on abortion and every other issue, irrespective of their personal views.”

RomneyHowever, he seems to contradict himself with other things he says in the article:

“I support the reversal of Roe v. Wade, because it is bad law and bad medicine. Roe was a misguided ruling that was a result of a small group of activist federal judges legislating from the bench.”

We will keep track of Romney – can we trust him?
