In the wake of the YouTube EHarmony Video Scandal, we have the Google Les Paul Electric Guitar Doodle.

This was a work of genius to say the least.

The idea was to honor the creation of the electric guitar by none other than Les Paul, who passed on in 2009. The folks at the Google Plex had this idea for an icon to point to the creation that made Rock and Roll possible, according to Alex Chen at the Official Google blog:

As well as his guitar work, Les Paul experimented in his garage with innovative recording techniques like multitracking and tape delay. In keeping with this spirit of tinkering, those of you in the U.S. can click the black “compose” button to record your own 30-second track. Just strum the strings or trigger notes with the letters or numbers on your keyboards. Clicking the button again will display a link to share the songs you’ve made

So, as you can see in the video, this blogger gave it the old college try!

The good news is that the Google Electric Guitar Doodle is so popular it’s back for another day!
