(This is the companion to the vlog: Charice Pempengco : Glee Star Is Lesbian Gay; Do Filipinos Care? – By Nikky Raney for Zennie62) Charice Pempengco is the now former Glee on Fox TV star, who played Sunshine Corazon. On Monday, during an interview with Filipino talk show host Boy Abunda on The Buzz, he asked if she was gay – her answer was yes. Nikky says that the Filipino community is split on this subject, with some stars like boxer Manny Pacquiao not for it, and noted for his anti-gay remarks. But as a whole, does...

Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop” single is now number one in iTunes downloads and this was achieved in just 24 hours, and with an amazing San Francisco social media tour of Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter that you can review here: The effort also boosted Miley Cyrus’ Google Insight For Search Ranking, as seen here, from an already lofty 89, to a blazing 100: But it’s not the highest 100 in her total Google Insight For Search Ranking history, as this chart shows, but she’s on an uptick, as the end...

Deacon Jones, The Secretary Of Defense in the NFL, passed away at the age of 74 on Monday. Jones was perhaps the best defensive end in the history of the National Football League, and was part of the famed “Fearsome Foursome” that consisted of Rosey Greer, Lamar Lundy, Merlin Olsen, and Mr. Jones. It’s impossible for this blogger to think of an NFL All-Star 4-3 Defense without Deacon Jones, who played for the Los Angeles Rams and the Washington Redskins, at defensive end. Stay tuned. ...

The Miley Cyrus “We Cant Stop” SF Social Media Tour caused the singing and acting and social media icon to do with the Social Media Industry, what celebs have done with the TV industry in decades past. Then, a celeb would fly to New York City or LA to do the “talk show circuit, and promote their movie or tv show or music. Well, Miley Cyrus did just that on Monday, except that she flew up to San Francisco using the trendy, social media savvy, Blackjet private set service, and visited the following social media companies:...

Miley Cyrus, who rose to fame via The Disney Channel, before striking out as a teen sex pot singer and movie actress (remember my video on her lap dance?), is one of a number of celebrities and brands to schedule Twitter-based question-and-answer sessions and to help in promotional efforts. In this case, the promotional effort is for her new single “We Can’t Stop,” which has zoomed to the top of the charts in just 24-hours. To do tweet about “We Can’t Stop,” Ms. Cyrus traveled to San Francisco,...

Michael Douglas, in saying that oral sex caused his cancer, and not smoking and drinking, just gave an electric cattle prod to what looked like it was about to be a sleepy media Monday. That was funny, because it’s a serious matter but, well, you get the idea. What’s funnier still is that Michael Douglas, who’s still with the stunning Catherine Zeta Jones, said that while oral sex was the cause of his cancer, having more of it was the cure! Wow. Somewhere in the next day I fully expect Michael Douglas to wake up and...

The latest Oklahoma Tornado news is that one of the storm chasers who have given us some of the fantastic videos we have seen were among 13 killed by twisters in Central OK on Friday. And that is on top of the five killed in Northern Oklahoma the day before, on Thursday. Tim Samaras was killed by a tornado in the Oklahoma City suburb of El Reno, which is the same place where a mother and child were killed while in their SUV Thursday. Samaras was founder of the tornado research company Twistex, and became a well-known storm chaser....

When I questioned Phil Simms, the former NY Giants QB on the NFL Retired Players Settlement Issue at the 2013 NFL Draft Red Carpet, where a court awarded a $42 million judgement, instead of giving an answer in support of his fellow athletes, he decided to be a jerk and say “I don’t know.” If you look at Simms, he’d already decided to be rude to me before he opened his mouth. It’s too bad he could not say something nice. But it’s also a lesson to some who think they’re so much a “star”...

Ok, lovers of Women’s Tennis (it’s the legs) here’s an update from the 2013 French Open. Serena Williams, the number one women’s tennis player in the World, beat number 15th ranked, Roberta Vinci of Italy, 6-1 6-3. Now, Compton, California’s amazing star and half an awesome sister sports act, has won four matches, winning all in straight sets. To date, Serena has won 28 straight matches. Meanwhile Russia’s Svetlana Kuznetsova, the 2009 French Open Champ, is making a comeback of sorts, and won,...

Hope Solo and Jerramy Stevens, her husband as a result of their marriage last October, were spotted by ESPN at today’s U.S. vs. Germany World Cup Soccer Qualifier Match at RFK Stadium in Washington DC (which the USA won 4-3). And you may wonder how this blogger came to know this? The answer is a lesson in Internet traffic dynamics. I wasn’t watching the contest, but in the middle of another web project, when I noticed my web traffic went up a wee bit. The top gaining content was this blog post: Jerramy Stevens: Hope Solo’s...

Pro Football Weekly. After 46 years, Pro Football Weekly has published its last issue. The publication I read religiously when I was a teenager, and because it had the only reliable and detailed account of the 1975 Dallas Cowboys Offense, and their employment of pre-shfting, is no longer. According to its Publisher and editor, the legendary Hub Arkush… “Over the last five years our majority owner and each of the minority partners invested a tremendous amount of money, time and effort to try to build a bridge for PFW from...

SF Carnival 2013. It was its usual mix of girls, food, fun, dancing, and something new: dudes videobombing. I was all set to talk about how long the SF Carnival 2013 Street Festival was when three dudes came up and videobombed me – or interrupted my recording of comment to make one of their own. Fortunately, I have trained myself to expect this, and turn the camera on the person who’s doing the videobombing. If they have a good message, they’ll say it; if not, they’ll run away. Those guys didn’t have...

Comments Off on Does AARP Membership Offer Mean This Is The End?

The American Association Of Retired Persons or AARP, sent this blogger a letter containing a fancy membership offer. That’s not cool. I thought AARP was for people who were over 65, not 50. At 50, I’m not done living. AARP is trying to tell me to get out. Quit. Give up the ship. Why? I resent that. The idea of retirement is from the mid-20th Century assembly line, 9 to 5, quit and sleep in your rocking chair days. I’m in the 21st Century and the idea of sleeping in a rocking chair is about 32 years off for...

Oklahoma is being tormented by more bad weather, just one week after a massive storm and killer tornado ended the lives of 50, insured many more, and destroyed schools and much of the town of Moore, Oklahoma. Today, all of Northern Oklahoma is under a severe thunderstorm warning condition, and there have been reports of tornados touching down near the town of Perkins, Oklahoma, according to CBS News. And CBS News meteorologist David Bernard has reported that the Great Plains region – an area that is as long as from Texas to North...

The Chicago Sun-Times, facing ever declining revenues in an age of camera-equipped smartphones, camcorders, and bloggers and vloggers, held a meeting with its photography staff to announce they’ve been fired. And, according to AdAge, that means 20 people will lose their jobs, but including freelancers, the number comes to about 30 people. The Chicago Sun-Times released this statement: “The Sun-Times business is changing rapidly and our audiences are consistently seeking more video content with their news. We have made great...
