131001_POL_ObamacareWebsite1.jpg.CROP_.promovar-mediumlarge1The Obamacare signup deadline has been extended to March 31st. A visit to Healthcare.gov/marketplace reads:

Enroll now in a plan that covers essential benefits, pre-existing conditions, and more. Open enrollment continues until March 31, 2014.

And if you’re in California, the deadline is now January 15th, and not January 1st.

The adjustment is obviously new, because just four days ago the San Jose Mercury News reported that the deadline extension did not apply to California, who’s date was said to be January 1st.

But a visit to the Covered California website that’s linked to Healthcare.gov shows otherwise:

Enroll by Jan. 15 for
Coverage Beginning Feb. 1

And that’s even though the previous language showing the old deadline is still listed further below on the page.

Folks, just go and sign up.

Stay tuned.
