Tony Kanaan The Indianapolis 500 the 12th time around was the charm for Tony Kanaan.

Mr. Kanaan won the Indy 500 on his 12th try, and by taking the lead from Ryan Hunter-Reay on a restart with just three laps to the end.

A Dario Franchitti crash froze the race due to a caution flag, and allowed Kanaan to see a chance to race past the field, and to win. He would later say “I got lucky.”

He did.
